Orthodontic overlays are a modern way to treat malocclusion, which involves wearing transparent splints that gradually move the teeth to the right places. The whole process is planned by computer, and the patient changes the pads every 2 weeks, which allows precise correction of the alignment of the teeth. Treatment lasts an average of 3 to 12 months, depending on the severity of the defect. The pads are discreet and comfortable - they can be removed for eating and brushing teeth, which makes it easier to maintain hygiene. Thanks to this, the treatment is comfortable and aesthetic, and the effect in the form of a simple, healthy smile is achieved in a short time.

Retention Overlay (Transparent Orthodontic Overlay)
Retention cap (transparent orthodontic overlay) is an excellent solution that helps maintain the effects of orthodontic treatment. It is an almost invisible overlay, individually designed to ensure adequate stabilization of the teeth after the end of orthodontic treatment. Thanks to its transparent structure, the overlay is discreet and comfortable to wear. The cost of one retention overlay is PLN 600 for 1 bow. This is a discreet and convenient solution that allows you to maintain the effects of treatment for a long time, without the need to put on the apparatus daily.
Retention plate (movable retention apparatus)
Retention plate (movable retention apparatus) is a classic element that maintains the effects of orthodontic treatment. Made of acrylic and a delicate wire frame, worn mainly at night, it helps to maintain the correct alignment of the teeth after removing the permanent apparatus. It is a comfortable and effective solution that supports the stabilization of the results obtained and prevents the recurrence of malocclusion.

During the follow-up visit, the orthodontist checks the progress of the treatment and makes the necessary adjustments to the apparatus — e.g. activates the arch and replaces the ligatures. Orthodontic overlays are transparent splints that we put on our teeth. Changing the overlay every 2 weeks, we gradually move the teeth to the desired position. The entire treatment is planned by computer based on advanced calculations performed by specialized orthodontic software. Thanks to this, without the need for the classic “wires and locks”, we can turn crooked teeth into a perfectly simple and healthy smile.
The cost of treatment with orthodontic inserts, together with all follow-up visits, ranges from PLN 8000 to PLN 16000, depending on the stage and length of therapy. We assess this during the initial consultation. Importantly, all additional costs are included in this price.
Minor adjustments with orthodontic inserts take about 3 months, while more advanced cases require treatment for up to 12 months.
As with a classic appliance, we may experience slight discomfort in the initial phase of using a new orthodontic overlay. Over time, this feeling subsides.
If the teeth have a nice shape and are free of discoloration, then setting them in a perfect arch with orthodontic overlays will make the smile very aesthetic. After the treatment is completed, the patient receives a home whitening package from us at the price of the overlay therapy.
Depending on the individual treatment plan, follow-up visits are scheduled on average once a month. In special cases, if the patient is abroad, the inspection can take place via video call.
Ideally, orthodontic pads should be worn 22 hours a day, that is, removed only to brush your teeth and during meals.
Orthodontic overlays on the teeth are practically invisible. They look like a thin, transparent, shiny layer that does not stand out when talking or smiling.
Most cases are eligible for treatment with orthodontic braces. With some more advanced malocclusion, you may find that in the initial phase of treatment it will be necessary to wear classic locks for about 6 months.
The biggest advantage of orthodontic pads is the ease of maintaining hygiene. Unlike the fixed apparatus, where food accumulates in the nooks and crannies between the locks and the wire, the overlays can be removed for eating and cleaning teeth. Thanks to this, oral hygiene is no different from that before treatment.
Another significant advantage of orthodontic overlays is their aesthetics. They are practically invisible, which is relevant for many patients who do not want braces to be visible when smiling or talking.
